The National Centre of Competence for Mechanical Engineering (NCKS)

Project Number: TN02000018

Project Duration: 1 January 2023 – 31 December 2028

The National Centre of Competence for Mechanical Engineering (NCKS) focuses on research, development, and innovation activities essential for enhancing the competitiveness of the Czech mechanical engineering sector, particularly in the area of medium and light engineering. The NCKS addresses key topics crucial for the future innovation of machinery and equipment.

Its strategic research agenda reflects customer and user requirements, as well as economic, environmental, societal, and above all, technological needs. The centre places strong emphasis on improving the performance and efficiency of machinery, reducing energy consumption, automating production processes, saving materials, minimising environmental impacts, and digitalising processes, all while taking into account the trends associated with Industry 4.0.

Further project details, including information on the mechanical engineering focus, are available on the STARFOS portal.

The National Centre of Competence for Mechanical Engineering project is co-financed with public support from the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic under the National Centres of Competence Programme. This project is funded through the National Recovery Plan from the European Recovery and Resilience Facility.
